Borgin & Burkes

This purveyor of magical antiquities is located in Knockturn Alley, a dicey offshoot of the more popular Diagon Alley shopping district. Its dubious wares make it a favorite haunt of Lucius and Draco Malfoy.

• Cursed opal necklace The superstition that opals are unlucky may have contributed to Rowling's choice of gem for this frightening piece of jewelry. Priced at 1500 galleons, the necklace has "claimed the lives of nineteen Muggles to date."
• Death Eater masks
• Glass eye On Harry's first (and unintentional) visit to Borgin & Burkes, glass eyes are some of the disturbing wares he notices in the display case.

• Serpent candlestick Among the props at Borgin, we will display several "Treasures from the House of Black." A serpent candleabra is one of the first things Harry notices in the front hall of Number Twelve Grimmauld Place.
